AMD Reveals India Prices for Second-Gen Ryzen CPUs: Ryzen 5 2600 for Rs 12,990, Ryzen 7 2700X for Rs 24,490

AMD unveiled thesecond-gen Ryzen processorsat the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and it was speculated that the next-gen processors would be released in March. However, to the disappointment of fans, the processors weren’t launched last month.

Now, AMD has finally announced the release date of themuch-awaited second-gen Ryzen chipsalong with pricing details. The company’s press release says the second-gen Ryzen desktop processors are now available for pre-orders globally and on-shelf availability is expected on April 19.

Starting off from the bottom,the Ryzen 5 2600, with six cores and twelve threads, has been priced at Rs 12,990. The Ryzen 5 2600X, which also has six cores and twelve threads but a faster base clock speed, has been priced at Rs 15,990. The octa-core Ryzen 7 2700 with 16 threads has been priced at Rs 20,490, while theRyzen 7 2700X with a faster base clock speed has been priced at Rs 24,490.

The press release states:

“AMD today announced global pre-orders are now available for the eagerly anticipated 2nd generation AMD Ryzen desktop processors, continuing to offer disruptive levels of compute performance at a variety of price points. Delivering more performance and innovative new features, the 2nd hen Ryzen desktop processors are built for PC gamers, creators, and hardware enthusiasts worldwide to offer faster, smarter and smoother computing experiences.”

All second-genRyzenprocessors will come with AMD Wraith coolers inside the box and they also come bundled with AMD’s StoreMI storage acceleration technology to“combine the speed of your SSD with the capacity of your hard disk into a single, fast, easy-to-manage drive.”
