Android April Security Patch Also Includes Some Functional Updates for Pixel, Nexus Devices

According to the latest Pixel and Nexus Security Bulletin,Googlehas prepared the April 2018 Android Security patch and is expected to start roll-out from April 5 2018. The April Security patch will be rolling out to supported GooglePixeland Nexus devices and will address a number of security issues along with a bunch of “functional updates” for Pixel and Nexus devices.

The Android April security update will include security patches for the framework, media framework, system, kernel components, and Qualcomm components. As part of the functional updates, on the other hand, the April security update will include fixes for functionality issues onPixeldevices which are not related to security.

The update includes 56 functional updates of varying severity, including assisted dialing support, improved anomaly detection metrics, improved handover from VoLTE to VoWi-Fi during emergency calls, improved microvideo performance inGoogle Camera, reduced delays while opening specific apps, improved decoding of certain video stream, improved fingerprint and keyboard latency in certain situations, etc.
