Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2, Max M2 Officially Unveiled in Russia
Ever since the Redmi Note 6 Pro arrived in India earlier last month, we have been waiting on the release of theZenFone Max Pro M2launch in the country.
As you must have already heard, Asus had planned to officially unveil its much-awaited ZenFone Max Pro M1 successor on December 11. However, it seems like the company couldn’t contain the excitement any longer and has bared it all by quietly launching the ZenFone Max M2 and ZenFone Max Pro M2 in Russia.
ZenFone Max Pro M2: Specifications
ZenFone Max Pro M1 was a huge success for Asus and the smartphone is still selling like hotcakes in India, however, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 is planning to change things up for good – unlike Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 6 Pro.
The smartphone has what looks like a polycarbonate body with a shiny glass finish, which is a bit like the ZenFone 5Z. Itsports a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD screenwith a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
Yeah, Asus is definitely taking things up a notch in terms of design. Take a look:
In the camera department, the smartphone includes a dual camera module witha 12MP (f/1.8) primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensoron the rear, along with a 13MP (f/2.0) selfie camera. There’s an LED flash available both on the front and back.
The highlight of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 is the massive 5,000mAh battery pack, which is the same as its predecessor, so you can rest assured that you’ll get a two-day battery life quite easily.
ZenFone Max M2: Specifications
Moving on to the ZenFone Max M2 (wereviewed the Max M1), Asus has stuck with its tried and tested design of the ZenFone Max Pro M1, but downgraded the hardware specs and upgraded the screen here.
The ZenFone Max M2 packs thesame 6.3-inch IPS LCD displaybut with the resolution bumped down to 1520×720 pixels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 632 chipset, taking a leap similar to what Honor 8C took from its Snapdragon 400-series predecessor. This has been coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
In the camera department, the ZenFone Max M2 carries a dual rear-camera setup with a13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary depth sensor, along with an 8MP selfie snapper. The highlight of the smartphone, again, is the huge 4,000mAh battery, which is the same as its predecessor.

Price and Availability
The company has priced the Snapdragon 632-powered ZenFone Max M2 at RUB 12,990 (approx Rs. 13,900), whereas the ZenFone Max Pro M2 will see Russians shell out RUB 17,990 (approx Rs. 19,000) to get the smartphone. We’re still waiting on the launch of these devices in India and assume the price tag would be lower and competitive to lock horns with its rivals.
