Everything You Should Know About Honor 9X and 9X Pro Before Launch

With a myriad of smartphone lineups in the market, phone makers are always busy refreshing one or the other for the masses. Same is the case with Honor. The company recently unveiled its flagship Honor 20 series globally and it’s gearing up to launch the Honor 9X and 9X Pro in China next week.

That being said, a lot has already leaked about the Honor 9X series, thanks to aTENAA listingand it gives you a good look at the complete specs of the 2 upcoming devices as well. The listing shows off model numbers HLK-TL00 and HLK-AL00 for the two devices.

Both the Honor 9X variants will feature a 6.59-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) LCD screen, with slim bezels, no notch, and any other intrusion. This means the 16MP selfie camera is housed in a pop-up mechanism, a first for the Chinese giant. Popular tipster @evleaksposted rendersof the two devices on Twitter earlier this month:

The devices will be powered by Huawei’s newly launched Kirin 810 chipset based on the 7nm architecture, coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

As you can already see in the image above, the company itself has given us all a sneak peek at the vibrant rear panel of the device with an X gradient pattern that looks really cool. If you liked the single-color dual-finish of theHonor 8X, which was classier, then I think the 9X and 9x Pro will feel a little flashy to you.

The rear panel here also shows off the vertical triple camera setup, which is expected to feature aprimary 48MP sensor, an 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The TENAA listing, however, tells a different story and says that the Honor 9X would come with just 2 rear cameras – 48MP and 2MP. This means the Honor 9X Pro is shown in the official image above instead of the Honor 9X.

You can also see that there’s no fingerprint sensor on the rear, which means it will most likely be sitting on the side – baked into the power button. I like this implementation as you’re able to easily tap the power button to unlock. There’s also expected to be a huge 4,000mAh battery and Android 9 Pie-based EMUI onboard.
