Huawei Mate 20 Specifications, Launch Date and Price
Huaweihas unveiled a bunch of new Mate series phones carrying the all-newHiSilicon Kirin 980 SoCand triple rear camera modules. Out of the bunch, the new Mate 20 immediately caught my attention as it is the most affordable model, yet it brings an impressive set of specs.

The Huawei Mate 20 features a6.43-inch full-HD+ (1080×2244 pixels)panel. Thanks to a “Dewdrop notch”, the display has an aspect ratio of18.7:9. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Kirin 980 SoC coupled with up to6GB RAMand128GB internal storage.
The HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, in case you don’t know, is theworld’s first 7nm mobile chipset(Yes, Huawei announced it before Apple). Huawei is talking about some gains when it comes to CPU performance and power efficiency, but we’ll have to put it through its paces before commenting on it.
Just like its siblings, the Mate 20 comes with a beautiful glass and metal design. Inside the beautiful body, the Mate 20 houses a massive4,000 mAh batterywith support for HuaweiSuperCharge. It is also worth pointing out that the Mate 20 runs onAndroid 9.0 Pieof the box, however, you’ll find Huawei’sEMUI 9.0on top of it.
As for the optics, the Mate 20 has the same cameras as Mate 20 Pro. There’s a triple rear camera setup with a40-megapixel primary sensoralong with an f/1.8 aperture, a20-megapixel secondary sensoralong with an f/2.2 aperture, and an8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensorwith an f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there’s a24-megapixel sensorwith an f/2.0 aperture.

The Huawei Mate 20 starts at799 euros for the 4GB/128GB variantand goes up to850 euros for the 6GB/128GB variant. It will be available in four finishes – Emerald Green, Twilight, Midnight Blue, and Black. The company has not yet announced pricing outside Europe.

The Huawei Mate 20 will be available in select European markets startingOctober 26.Sadly, Huawei has decided to bring only the Mate 20 Pro smartphone to India, so it looks like it will remain exclusive to the European market, at least at launch.
