Flipkart has put up adedicated micrositefor the Redmi K20 series smartphones that are all set to launch in India next week. The lineup consists of the mid-range Redmi K20 and the flagship K20 Pro, both of which are expected to be available on Flipkart, although, there doesn’t seem to be any specific mention of the flagship just yet.
Interestingly enough, while the official launch isslated for July 17, unverified rumors suggest that Xiaomi may hold a so-called‘Alpha Sale’on July 12 to give its fans a chance to get their hands on the devices earlier than expected. One of our colleagues could access the following page on their Flipkart app, but there doesn’t seem to be any confirmation about the early sale from either Xiaomi or Flipkart.
In case you’re unaware, Xiaomilaunched the Redmi K20 and K20 Prosmartphones in China earlier this year. The K20 Pro is the flagship phone, and it comes with a 6.39-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner, the Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage and a 4,000 mAh battery with 27W QuickCharge 4.0 support.
Imaging options include a 20MP pop-up selfie camera alongside a triple camera setup on the back, including a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary camera with an f/1.75 lens, a 13MP secondary sensor with a wide-angle lens and an 8MP additional sensor with an f/2.4 lens. It’s priced at just 2,599 yuan (around Rs. 26,000) in China, so it will be interesting to see how it’s priced in India.
The Redmi K20 on the other hand, comes with the new Snapdragon 730processor instead of the SD 855, but apart from that, it has the same AMOLED display, the same 20MP selfie-shooter and a similar triple camera setup at the back, but with the 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor instead of the IMX586. The Redmi K20 starts at 1,999 yuan (around Rs. 20,000) in China.
