Xiaomi Launches Mi Beard Trimmer in India at Rs. 1,199

Xiaomi already has an established a presence in the smartphone, TV, and IoT segment in India, but it’s now stepping foot into the personal grooming category as well. Xiaomi has todaylaunched the Mi Beard Trimmer for Rs 1,199 in India, after teasing it over the past week. It comes as the first launch under the company’s5th-anniversary celebration.

The Mi Beard Trimmer has a pretty neat and minimal aesthetic, along with a matte black finish, as you can see in the images below. The quad-edge design, Xiaomi says, will give you a more secure grip while trimming whereas thestainless steel bladesshould offer you a slick and sharp trim. The blades feature a self-sharpening mechanism that will help prolong the trimmer’s life.

Xiaomi offers you two trimming combs, which combined with 0.5mm precision setting, is going tooffer you 40 length choices – from 0.5mm to 20mm. This is great for close trims, as well as grooming longer beards and can be adjusted with the dial onboard.

The best feature of the Mi Beard Trimmer will, however, have to beIPX7 certification. It means you can conveniently use the Mi Beard Trimmer around water, with it being good in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.

Mi Beard Trimmer comes with a USB-A charging cable in-box that enables you to charge the device fully in just 2 hours. You’ll get90 minutes of use timeon a single charge, which should be good for multiple trims. There’s 3 LED lights on Mi Beard trimmer to let you know how much charge is left.

If the trimmer dies in the middle of a trimming session, you can use it in the corded mode via an adapter or even the Mi Power Bank. You can also charge it for 5 minutes to get 10 minutes of cordless use, which is great.

Xiaomi has established a brand trust among the consumers over the past five years. This now gives them the confidence to launch more of its products – apart from new phones in India. We still need to test out the Mi Beard Trimmer personally to say whether it’s a good alternative to your Philips or Nova trimmers in the market. However, everything about Mi Beard Trimmer, including the features and price, looks pretty good on paper.
