Mi A3: Specs and Features
Mi A3went officialglobally earlier last month, so we already know everything about this upcoming Android One smartphone. It’s arebranded Mi CC9ethat launched in China recently and it brings in tow a curved glass design – with Gorilla Glass 5 protection both on the front and back.
TheMi A3 sports a 6.088-inch HD+ AMOLED display, with a waterdrop notch design. It has a taller 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 91% screen-to-body ratio. The display panel has been upgraded from an LCD panel on its predecessor to an AMOLED panel on the Mi A3, but the resolution has now been bumped down to HD+. There’s an in-display fingerprint scanner on board as well to give it a more modern appeal.
This smartphone ispowered by the Snapdragon 665 chipset, coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Mi A3 comes equipped with alarger 4,030mAh batterywith Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support as compared to the measly 3,000mAh battery on the Mi A2.
In the camera department, Mi A3 boasts atriple rear-camera setupwhich includes a primary 48MP (f/1.79) sensor, alongwith an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle lens, and 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. There’s a32MP (f/2.0) camera in the waterdrop notch up-top, so your selfie cravings are covered as well.
Apart from all this, Mi A3 is part of the Android One program andruns stock Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. Xiaomi doesn’t make a boatload of changes to the stock ROM, apart from adding its camera software and algorithms into the mix. All of your connectivity options remain the same and the 3.5mm headphone jack makes a return. Yes, it was absent on the Mi A2 but user feedback has now got it back on the successor.
With only a week until the launch of the Mi A3 smartphone, we have to wait and see how Xiaomi prices its Android One phone to woo the masses away from its other offerings, or theRealme 5 seriesthat launches just a day earlier.
